Matin Abdullah of Daily Jugantor and SM Foyez of Bangla Vision have been elected as president and general secretary respectively of Nagar Unnayan Sangbadik Forum (City Development Journalists' Forum) for the next two years.
Amitosh Pal, outgoing president of the forum, announced the new executive committee after the biennial election was held at a restaurant in Dhaka's Segunbagicha on Friday, a press release said.
The other office bearers are -- Vice President Kamrun Nahar of The Financial Express, Joint Secretary Md Shohel Mamun of Dhaka Tribune, Finance Secretary Jahangir Khan Babu of Dainik Janata, Organizing Secretary Foysal Khan of Jai Jai Din, Office Secretary Talukder Biplab of News 24, Publicity and Publication Secretary Hasan Emon of Protidiner Sangbad, Welafare and Entertainment Secretary Shahed Motiur Rahman of Daily Naya Diganta, and Training and Research Secretary Saidul Islam of Daily Bhorer Dak.
Besides, five elected executive members are -- Ontu Mujahid of Radio Aamar, Rashad Ahamad of New Age, Azharuzzaman Limon of Somoy Television, Rashidul Hasan of Daily Sun, and Mehedi Hasan Badhan of Bangladesh Post.
Amitosh Pal, also the special correspondent of Daily Samakal, was the chief election commissioner, while Firoz Manna of Daily Janakantha and Abdullah Tuhin of Jamuna Television were election commissioners.
