Law Minister Anisul Huq has expressed satisfaction over the verdict in the Holey Artisan attack case.
He said: “We are satisfied with the verdict in which seven of the accused have got capital punishment.”
The minister shared his views during a press briefing at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.

“This sensational incident hurt the very root of the country’s spirit. However, finally the case ended properly, and the verdict has left me satisfied,” the minister said.
“We have proved before the global community that Bangladesh can judge such a significant case swiftly by following all the rules, ” he added.
While replying to a query, Anisul said: “I did not read the verdict yet, and will only be able to comment after the release of the full verdict.”

Dhaka's Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal handed down the death penalty to seven accused, and acquitted another in the Holey Artisan attack case on Wednesday.
The court also fined the convicts Tk50,000 each.
Three years ago in 2016, the Holey Artisan Bakery and Café was stormed by five men.
During the attack on July 1, 23 people -- including 17 foreigners -- were brutally killed by the militants.
A case was filed with the Gulshan police station under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
