Bir Uttom Khaled Mosharraf and Bir Uttom Abu Osman Chowdhury's family members have demanded justice over the killing of their fathers and others on November 7, 1975.

They made the request in a press conference organized by Khaled Mosharraf Trust, held at Dhaka's National Press Club on Thursday.

Mosharraf's daughter, Mahjabin Khaled said: "We all know who plotted and executed the killing operation. Both the perpetrators need to be put under trial."

She claimed: "During the Liberation War, my father was the commander of sector 2, who was killed by Major Jalil and Major Asad following the orders of the then army chief Ziaur Rahman."

In a written statement Mahjabin said: "On the night of November 6, Mosharraf and others were at the Bangabhaban when so called Sipahi-Janata Biplob started.

"On the next morning, Ziaur Rahman and Mosharraf exchanged heated words regarding the movement. Following the incident, some soldiers broke into the regiment 10 captain Nowajesh's office, where they took shelter, and killed all of them," she mentioned.

"I hope the government will help us let the entire nation know the true colors of many people that came out after the end of the Liberation War," Mahjabin added.

Osman Chowdhury's daughter Nasima Osman demanded a Truth Commission in order to unfold the incidents that happened on November 7, 1975.

She said people should know the history of how her mother was killed, and how they were detained by some army personnel on that day.

"There is a risk of tempering with this historical information without a Truth Commission," Nasima added.

A prosecutor of war crime tribunal Barrister Turin Afroj said there is no legal binding to bring the killer under the trial.

"However, a strong prosecution team is needed as this historical trial needs to review a huge literature to secure justice to the victims and their families," she continued.

While speaking of army rule, Turin said: "We have seen the trial of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's killing, which was also conducted by some army officials. Therefore, army laws should not be a problem regarding this matter as well."
