Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) students are now complaining on a new internet domain as authorities have blocked their old web page.
The new web page for submitting complaints is:
https://gitreports.com/issue/BUET-Reports/anonymous-report?fbclid=IwAR3rBQpc2qdsFDJtbXecc_h5o4tCUD0o0qZUk9Rrj_3Jvd3cmM3OmP11qB8
Earlier on Wednesday, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) blocked the old Buet students’ web page.
Engineer Md Asif Wahid, senior assistant director of system and service division of BTRC, directed the internet gateway concerned to block the web page.
According to Buet students, a few students from the department of computer science and engineering had made a 'One-stop online reporting system' in 2016, where they could submit various kinds of complaints, including abuse.
After the killing of Abrar Fahad, a second year student of the university, the number of complaints on the old site increased.
When asked, department Associate Professor ABM Alim Al Islam said: "It was initiated for departmental work. The web page was blocked by an internal decision of the department."
