Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has said the murder of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad was a blow to the freedom of expression in the country.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, TIB demanded student politics in all the educational institutions, including Buet, be freed from partisan politics.
TIB Executive Director Dr Iftekharuzzaman said: “We want to urge the government to realize that the murder of Abrar is not a seperate incident.”
He also demanded fair investigation into the murder incident and to ensure exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.
