Rapid Action Battalion raided the house owned by Enamul Hoque Arman, a close associate of former Dhaka South Jubo League president Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, in Dhaka.
RAB personnel began the raid at his Mirpur 1 residence on Sunday afternoon, hours after Arman was detained from Comilla.
The battalion members raided the house from 1:30pm to 6pm in the presence of RAB Executive Magistrate Md Ansiur Rahman.
RAB 4 second-in-command Major Kazi Saifuddin Ahmed said Arman's wife lived in the apartment with their children.
"We raided there to check if there is something illegal. But they [wife and children] left the place sensing presence of law enforcement members," he said.
During the drive, 12 to 13 cheque books and documents regarding business of Arman's wife were found, he added.
RAB detained Samrat and Arman from Kunju Sripur village in Chauddagram upazila early Sunday.
