A faction of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front has urged Dhaka University (DU) authorities to reduce the cost of graduate studies.
Comrade Khalekuzzaman, of the faction of the leftist party, made the statement after inaugurating the faction’s fifth central council in front of the Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture at the DU campus on Wednesday.

He also urged the university authorities not to conduct business with higher studies.
Khalekuzzaman said: “I urge the DU authority to bring back the quality the university used to have in the old days.”
After the inauguration, the party activists carried out a procession around 1:15pm, to mark the council’s commencing day.
Leaders and activists from the units of different districts and educational institutions also joined the council.
