Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said, those who commit crimes will face stern action, and exemplary punishment for their misdeeds.
"I am not concerned whether it is a small or big fry, and they will be punished if he or she commits any crime," he told journalists at his office at Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka on Monday.
Referring to the arrest of some Awami League lawmakers, he said none will be spared if he or she commits any crime.
The government launched different drives against illegal business, and tender manipulation, he said, "Our intelligence agencies have been working on it, and collecting information about illegal business, and tender manipulations."
Replying to a query, the minister said immigration police are always alert, and they have lists of criminals so that the criminals are not be able to flee the country through airports or land ports.
