Garment workers have blocked multiple roads in Mirpur demanding arrears, and reopening of their factory.
They have kept roads blocked since 9am on Sunday.

Confirming the matter, Shah Ali police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Salahuddin Mia said: "Workers of Zaara Jeans and Knitwear Limited have blocked the road since Sunday morning demanding arrears.
"According to the protesting workers, the factory has also been shut since September 3."
He continued: "The workers claimed they had gone to BGMEA, and were assured that everything would be taken care of by September 14.
Since nothing came of it, they have taken to the streets, the police official added.

Police were unable to contact the garment owners.
The blocked roads were causing distress to commuters, OC Salahuddin said.

"We are trying to convince the protesting workers to unblock the roads," he added.
Till the filing of this report around 2pm, the RMG workers were still occupying the streets.
