Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will procure 200 fogger machines, 150 hand spree machines and 40,000 liters pesticides at a cost of around Tk5.32 crore from the local suppliers.
“The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the purchase proposal to tackle dengue and chikungunya,” said Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.
Considering the public interest, DNCC will procure the machineries and pesticides under the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) and the whole process will be completed within one month, he added.
The minister informed the government is using all avenues to protect Bangladesh’s people from dengue and chikungunya.
“As per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, all sections of the government are working together,” he added.
Mustafa Kamal said the government is working actively to ensure smooth living for the country’s people.
