A college student has died after falling off the rooftop of his building in Dhaka’s Gandaria area.
The incident took place around 7am on Monday.
The deceased is Sabbir Hossain Rafi, 18, a first year HSC student of BAF Shaheen College in Dhaka.
Confirming the matter, Inspector Md Bachchu Mia of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost said: “Rafi was brought to DMCH in critical condition. The duty doctors pronounced him dead around 12pm.”
“We are investigating the matter. His body has been sent for autopsy,” he said.
Deceased’s uncle, Jalal Uddin, said Rafi went to his the rooftop in the morning. The neighbours later heard a crashing sound, and found him lying on the ground.
They rescued him and took him to DMCH.
