In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,348 dengue patients have been admitted to different hospitals across the country.
Dengue, a mosquito-borne virus, spreads among humans through its carrier Aedes mosquito. The disease has no known cure or vaccine yet.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a press release on Tuesday, signed by Dr Ayesha Akter, assistant director of Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room addressing the current dengue situation of the country.

The number of admitted patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals combined is 7,968 according to the latest data provided by DGHS.
A total 23 dengue patients have died across Bangladesh from January 1 till August 6, according to their own collected data.
A total of 5,182 patients are currently receiving treatment in 40 government and private hospital in Dhaka, whereas a total of 2,786 people are undergoing treatment outside Dhaka, the release said.

Since January 1 till August 6, a total of 29,912 people have been affected by dengue.
Among those admitted, a total of 21,921 have been released from their respective hospitals and clinics after treatment.
