A man has been stabbed to death in Dhaka.
The deceased, Shamim Hossain, 18, was stabbed around 9pm on Friday, Lalbagh zone Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Md Nazir Ahmed confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune.
Nazir said according to Shamim's friend Siam, Shamim was stabbed by a youth named Rafi and 10/12 others, over an incident surrounding smoking cigarettes.
Critically injured, Shamim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the duty doctors declared him dead around 10pm.
The ADC has arrested some people for interrogation.
The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
