Five members of a family, including two children, have been shot by their neighbours in Matuail area of Jatrabari in Dhaka.
The incident occurred on Saturday night.
The injured are Zahidul Islam Enayet, 30, Hafizul Islam, 24, his wife Shatin, 24, their daughter Abida, 6, and nephew Zunayed, 4.
Kazi Wazed Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jatrabari police station told Dhaka Tribune that the family’s neighbours, Shafiq Uddin and his son Ershadur Rahman Happy, opened fire on them with their licensed shotgun.
The OC said: “The father-son pair had disputes with the family which triggered the incident.
“We have seized the shotgun and bullets.”
A case has been filed with Jatrabari police station over the incident, but no one has been arrested yet.
Police said the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and are now out of danger.
