“Dhaka Cast”, the first ever online diabetes management website has been launched in the capital.
State Minister for Information Communication Technology (ICT) Division, Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the website at a program titled “Women in E-Commerce can Ensure Women's Financial Participation and Empowerment” at the ICT Tower on Tuesday.
Women and E-Commerce Forum organized the event.
Zunaid said: “Doctors can now provide 24/7 service to patients through this website.”
Founder and CEO of “Dhaka Cast” Dr Fahreen Hannan said: “ About 2.7 million people are affected by diabetes in Dhaka city, and only 12% of them have it under control.”
“Nearly nine out of every 10 diabetic patients have abnormal blood sugar levels which expose them to potentially dangerous life-threatening diseases, such as stroke, kidney failure, and blindness,” she added.
Fahreen also said: “We will provide flexible services with affordable cost, and reach the mass through this website.”
Women E-Commerce President Nasima Akter Nishra, Bangladesh Hi-tech Authority Managing Director Hosne Ara Begum, and Sumaiya Tech Proprietor Ripa Jahan were present at the program, among others.
