Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said actions will be taken against Deputy Inspector General of police (DIG) Mizanur Rahman if it is proved that he bribed Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director Khandaker Enamul Basir.
"He must have committed a crime, which is why he had to cover it up by paying bribes," the minister said—while giving his speech as the chief guest at an event held at the Bakhsibazar prison headquarters—on Wednesday morning.
"We are investigating to find out whether he bribed or not," Kamal said. "On the other hand, we are also investigating the charges that he amassed a huge amount of illegal wealth."

Mizanur will be brought to book if all the charges against him are proven true, he said.
Khandaker and Mizanur recently became embroiled in controversy over a leaked audiotape in which Khandaker is allegedly heard accepting bribes from Mizanur so that charges against Mizanur are dropped.
Transparency International Bangladesh has urged the authorities to complete the investigation to bring both of them to book.
