Le Méridien and Unicef have signed an agreement to raise money for underprivileged children in Bangladesh during the holy month of Ramadan.
This effort to raise and collect money to help Bangladeshi children will start on May 5 and continue till June 4, writes a joint press release issued by Le Méridien and Unicef authorities on Monday.
Le Méridien will support Unicef by contributing $1 per customer who purchases Sehri and Iftar buffets through the campaign titled "Putting Every Child First this Ramadan."
This campaign will also enable Le Méridien hotel guests to make donations into three boxes that will be placed in the hotel throughout Ramadan.
“Unicef works to support the rights of every child, especially the most vulnerable,” said Unicef Bangladesh Representative, Tomoo Hozumi,."
"This Ramadan, we are glad to be part of this noble, charitable campaign for the development of under-privileged children." said Le Méridien Dhaka General Manager Constantinos S Gavriel.
Money raised will be used to strengthen Unicef's work on core issues, including reducing preventable newborn deaths, and a lowering child and mother mortalities. The cash will also help provide better nutrition for children and go towards efforts to reduce levels of stunting.
Both, Le Méridien, and Unicef have hailed the collaboration as the start of a sustainable partnership to support the rights of every child in the country.
