Rajuk has once again given time to different organizations that have offices in the illegally built BGMEA Complex on Hatirjheel, telling them to remove their belongings by 5pm Thursday.

The city development authority, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk), made the decision following applications of different organizations seeking time to remove their belongings from the building.

Rajuk Chief Engineer ASM Raihanul Ferdous told Dhaka Tribune that they received several applications from the offices whose assets still remain inside the building.

He said: “We gave them a second chance to evacuate their properties between 9am and 5pm. After 5pm, we will seal off the building again.”

Rajuk earlier sealed off the BGMEA building on Tuesday evening as per a Supreme Court verdict to demolish the building.

Most of the organizations housed in the building could not remove their valuables during the Rajuk-stipulated time.
