Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained four suspected muggers at Satrasta intersection in the Tejgaon industrial area of Dhaka.
They were detained around 11:05pm on Monday.
The detained are: Osman Gani, 29; Faruk Hossain, 28; Jakir Hossain, 24; and Md Rasel, 23.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, RAB 2 Assistant Superintendent of Police Shahidul Islam said:"Acting on a tip-off, we came to know a suspected mugger gang was preparing for a hijacking.
"On the basis of the information, a team of RAB 2 conducted a raid on Satrasta intersection and held four hijackers with locally-made ammunition."
Shahidul added:"They have been conducting this kind of crime in the area for a long time. We are planning take legal action against them"
