Maulana AKM Abu Musa—father of Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who died at a hospital five days after being set on fire by unknown assailants—has expressed his profound sorrow over the death of his only daughter.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Maulana AKM Abu Musa, father of the 18-year old victim conveyed his grief: “Words cannot describe my pain, and my heart aches with sadness. My sons have been in anguish ever since the hospitalization of my now-deceased daughter.
“The doctors did their best, but Nusrat is lost to us. I demand justice for my only daughter.”

Earlier, Nusrat’s body was sent to the forensics department for a post-mortem at 9am on Thursday.
Nusrat’s Namaz-e-Janaza is set to be held after the Asr prayer at Mohammad Saber Pilot High School grounds in Sonagazi upazila. She will be laid to eternal rest beside her grandmother’s grave at her native home Uttar Charsandia.
The teenage madrasa student from Feni’s Sonagazi upazila passed away around 9:30pm on Wednesday after her condition deteriorated critically.
Nusrat’s family says the girl was set on fire by supporters of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa Principal, Sirajuddaula, on the institute’s roof on April 6, for previously lodging a rape attempt case against him.
