A few of them have entered  the vice-chancellor's office

Update : 13 Mar 2019, 02:01 PM

Around 150 people—including students, candidates and supporters of five Ducsu panels—have gathered in front of Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Akhtaruzzaman's office, protesting the results of the Ducsu polls.

A few of the protesters went inside the vice-chancellor's office to meet with him, while the rest of them sat in front of the office, on Wednesday afternoon.

The protesters gathered after a procession of 500 people left the base of the Raju Sculpture. The procession included: students of Ruqayyah Hall, students of the CSE Department, five central panel candidates, and general students.

Ruqayyah Hall students have demanded their provost resign, while the rest of them demanded the VC resign.

The long overdue Ducsu and its hall union polls were held on Monday.

Nurul Haq Nur, the quota reform movement leader, was elected vice-president (VP) of Ducsu, while Bangladesh Chhatra League General Secretary Golam Rabbani, its general secretary.

Eight among nine secretary posts went to candidates from Chhatra League panel.

After the results were published, all panels, except that of Chhatra League, rejected the results alleging irregularities, and demanded re-election to all the posts except that of VP and Social Welfare post, and announced to boycott classes for an indefinite period.
