Nur, Liton among 40 sued for assaulting Ruqayyah Hall provost

Some 38 other people were also accused in the case

A case has been filed against 40 people for allegedly attacking Ruqayyah Hall Provost Prof Zeenat Huda during the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) polls.

Newly elected the vice president of Ducsu Nurul Haq Nur, Leftist panel's vice president candidate Liton Nandi and general candidate Umme Habiba Benozir were also accused in the case filed on Monday night.

Marzuka Raina of Ruqayyah Hall filed the case accusing them of attacking the provost and carrying out vandalism in the hall.

Confirming the case, DMP Deputy Commissioner (Ramna division) Maruf Hossain Sarder said: “We are looking into the matter.”

Voting for the Ducsu election at Ruqayyah Hall was suspended on Monday for two hours following the allegations of rigging and irregularities.
