Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSoD) President, Hasanul Haq Inu, said the government cannot escape the responsibility of the Chawkbazar fire. The former information minister visited Chawkbazar on Sunday afternoon where he made the remarks.
He said: “I too am part of the government. It is better to shoulder the responsibility. All concerned authorities are collectively responsible for the fire, hence it is a collective failure.
“We cannot solve the problem by blaming one another. Businessmen, administration, local people and the government are all responsible. There are no benefits by blaming one another and we should not avoid the responsibility.” he continued.
He also said: “Hazardous businesses must relocate from Old Dhaka to the allotted 20 acres of land in Keranigonj gradually. And 29 hazardous chemical businesses should relocate immediately.”
