The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair changed into an entertaining place for children on Saturday as they visited the fair and enjoyed the Shishu Prahar (children’s hour) along with their parents.
Children and their guardians gather at the Shishu Chattar on the east side of Suhrawardy Udyan from 11am to 1pm every Friday and Saturday so the children can immerse themselves in entertainment.
Akib, a seven-year-old boy said: “I came here to buy some books and really enjoyed this part of my visit. My parents bought me two comic books.”
Parents of the children said it is a great initiative by the book fair authorities.
Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2019 has dedicated the first two hours of weekend days for children, dubbing it “Shishu Prahar.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair on February 1, which is the country's largest book festival.
