A man, who was injured in the clashes between the two Tabligh Jamaat factions on Bishwa Ijtema ground last December, has died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Belal Hossain, 55, a resident Noakhali, died at the hospital around 9:18pm on Wednesday.
Confirming the matter, DMCH camp In-Charge (Inspector) Md Bachchu Mia said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue.
A Tabligh activist, unwilling to disclose identity, claimed that Belal was a follower of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi.
Belal was the Awami League president of Noakhali Municipality Ward 3. He was also involved with Tabligh Jamaat.
On December 1, 2018, one person was killed in a series of clashes between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat over establishing dominance at the Bishwa Ijtema grounds on the banks of the Turag River.
More than 200 people were also injured in the clashes.
