The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained a suspected member of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Dhaka’s Banasree area.
The detainee is identified as Shahtab Uddin, 32.
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB team raided a house in Banasree area on Friday night and detained Shahtab, RAB 1 Company Commander Maj Ishtiaque Ahmed said.
The elite force also seized some jihadi literature from his possession, he said.
“We are interrogating him to extract information,” the RAB official said, adding that legal action will be taken against the JMB operative.
