The three-day celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims, will begin across Bangladesh on Tuesday with all due rituals.
On Wednesday, the main congregation of the devotees will be held at National Eidgah on the High Court premises in Dhaka at 8am, UNB reported.
In case of inclement weather, the venue will be moved to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 8:30am, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon said on Monday while visiting National Eidgah.
A four-tier security system has been put in place around the Eidgah to ensure security.
The ground can accommodate over 100,000 people, including 5,000 women, for Eid prayers.
There will be arrangements for safe drinking water for the devotees at the Eidgah, the DSCC mayor said.
In addition, arrangements have been made to prevent lightning strikes, he added.
