Public transportation services have been suspended in Dhaka—due to security concerns.
Khondaker Enayet Ullah, secretary general of the Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association, said that buses have not been running in the city, since Friday morning, due to fears of vandalism.
“Most of the buses that came from outside Dhaka yesterday [Thursday] were unable to enter the city— while those that did enter were unable to leave because of the chaos,” he added.

Most of the areas of the city, including: Science Lab, New Market, Dhanmondi, Farmgate, Shahbag, Katabon, Uttara and Airport road, went completely without bus services.
Dhaka residents have had the government-run BRTC service as the only public transport option for the day.
Bus services in many other districts across the country have also been reportedly suspended under similar circumstances.
This move comes following the countrywide protest organized by students demanding justice for two Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College students who were killed by a speeding bus, on Airport Road, in Dhaka on July 29.
