A fire broke out at Hasina market of Karwan Bazar on Wednesday evening.
Seven units of firefighters managed to douse the fire around 5:20pm.
However, they could not yet ascertain the origin of the fire.
When asked about the extent of damage, Fire Service Control Room Duty Officer Ershad Hossain said they were yet to receive a full report on the incident.
He also said no casualties have been reported.
Earlier, another duty officer, Enayet Hossain, confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune that the fire broke out around 4:51pm.
