Injured Md Manik, 30, has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burn unit.
DMCH police outpost In-Charge Bachchu Mia told the Dhaka Tribune that Manik suffered 20% burns in his body.
The fire erupted at the slum around 9am Friday. Eight firefighting units doused the flame around 10:20am.
Mizanur Rahman, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said the cause of the fire and its damage could not be known immediately.
