Assistant Sub-Inspector Badrul Amin, the police officer on duty when a seven-month-old child fell from his mother’s lap and died during a mugging, has been suspended.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Wari) Farid Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the punitive action was taken as per an administrative by the DMP.
Arafat, son of Shah Alam Gazi from Shariatpur district, was on his mother Aklima Begum’s lap when the incident took place on Monday. He fell when the muggers tried to snatch her handbag.
