Mother killed, children burnt in Badda fire

A woman has been killed and her children injured in a fire incident in Dhaka’s Badda area. Yasmin, 38, died when taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Sunday morning. Siddique Bazar Fire Station duty officer Farhad Hossain said: “Yasmin and her two children were burnt in the fire that broke out around 3:45am. “The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a furniture shop in Sona Katra area and soon engulfed the adjacent house which belongs to the family.” He said: “On information, four two units went to the spot and doused the blaze around 4:30am.”

Alanullah’s uncle Nur Alam said: “My brother Abbas Ali stays abroad. Yasmin lived in the house with her two children.” Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit Residential Sergeant Partha Shankar Paul said: “Amanullah sustained 30% burn injuries while Sanjida sustained 28% burn injuries in the fire.”
