Korean firm to supervise Padma Bridge work

The government has signed a deal of Tk383.15 crore with a Korean consultant firm for supervision of the construction work of the main Padma Bridge.

The deal was inked between Bangladesh Bridges Authority and Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) at the Bridge Bhaban in the capital on Monday, reports BSS.

Team Leader (Overseas Project Division) of Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) Cho, Nam-Min and M Shafiqul Islam, project director of Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

The contract duration has been fixed for five years.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader witnessed the agreement signing ceremony as the chief guest.

According to the project, the overall implementation of the project is 22%, while 15% implemented of its infrastructure.
