Customs Intelligence officials have detained a cabin crew with four gold bars and some ornaments worth Tk25 lakh at the capital’s Shahjalal International Airport.
The detainee is Aslam Omar Belim, 45, a cabin crew of Kuwai Airlines.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Deputy Director Mustafizur Rahman said: “Aslam landed from Kuwait by a flight of 'KU-283' around 6am Saturday.”
“Acting on a tip-off, the customs intelligence officials searched his body and recovered four gold bars weighing 548grams and some ornaments weighing 82grams from his possession.”
Legal action to be taken against him, added the official.
