Assailants have hacked a woman and her daughter to death at Pabur village under Kapasia upazila in Gazipur.
The deceased are Surji Banu, 75, wife of late Miar Uddin of Pabur village and their daughter Madia Begum, 50.
Kapasia sadar UP Chairman Asgar Hossain Khan said: “Surji’s daughter-in-law came to know about the incident when she went to wake them up around 7am Tuesday. Surji was found dead while Madia died on the way to hospital.”
Kapasia police station Sub-Inspector Azharul Islam said: “The bodies had several stab marks on the heads.”
The bodies would be sent to Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmed Medical College for autopsy, added the official.
