A person has allegedly suffocated his wife to death in Savar municipal area, on the outskirts of the capital.
The deceased is Brishty Rani, 30, wife of Mongol Chandra Das, an official Savar Tax office.
Locals said there was disagreement between the couple since their marriage. Following the feud, they locked into a quarrel on Thursday night.
At one stage, Mongol suffocated his wife to death and tried to flee the scene on Friday morning.
However, the locals caught him and handed him over to the police.
On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Savar model police station OC Abdul Motaleb said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
He said a murder case was in this connection.
