An alleged robber has been beaten to death by angry mob in Samitirhat union under Fatikchhari upazila in Chittagong.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Fatikchari police station Inspector (investigation) Bidyut Kumar Barua said: “A gang of four to six robbers stormed into a house at Nichintapur village on Wednesday night.”
“Sensing the presence of the robbers, locals cordoned them off at the house and gave one of the robbers a good beating, leaving him dead on the spot,” said Bidyut.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
