An adolescent has been strangled to death by miscreants at Dewanbazar area in Chittagong city’s Bakalia.
The deceased was identified as Md Sazzad Hossen, 18, an employee of a mobile shop at Riajuddin Bazar in the city hailing from Satkania upazila, said Mohammed Moshin, OC of Bakalia police station.
The OC said locals spotted the body of Sazzad on the rooftop of a six-storied building at Nirapad Housing Society of Dewanbazar on Sunday morning and informed police.
“On receiving information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy, said the OC.
The police official said the body was bored an injury mark in its neck.
Mohsin added Sazzad used to live with his boss Sohel at the building while Sohel has changed his house at Mousumi Residential area at Chawkbazar area two days back.
Police conducted a raid at the new location of Sohel and arrested his wife Nargish Aktar along with 1,000 pieces of yaba pills, police official said.
Sohel has been allegedly peddling yaba pills and engaged in illegal VOIP business for long, said the OC.
Police were looking for him after the incident, he added.
