An enlisted criminal has been killed in in a gunfight with police at Kalimpur village under the sadar upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased, Daud Hussain, was wanted in 10 cases, including murder and possession of arms, said police.
Magura Assistant Police Superintendent Shudarshan Kumar Roy said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of police officers arrested Daud on Tuesday morning. Later, they took the criminal to Kalimpur village to recover the firearms.”
“Sensing the presence of law enforcers, Daud's accomplices opened fire, prompting them to fire back, which triggered a gunfight at midnight.”
“Later, the police recovered Daud's bullet-hit body from the spot,” added the ASP.
