One injured in crude bomb blast in Chittagong

A rickshaw passenger seriously injured his hand when a miscreant blasted a crude bomb at Bahaddarhat in Chittagong.

However, policed detained the miscreant from the spot while he was fleeing after hurling the bomb, said Syed Abdur Rauf, OC of Chandgaon police station.

The identity of the detainee could not yet to be ascertained immediately, said the OC.

The injured rickshaw passenger, Md Rafiq, 19, son of late Ruhul Amin, was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Nayek Hamidur Rahman of CMCH police outpost.

Two fingers of his left hand blew off following the blast, said Nayek Hamid.

The OC said the miscreant hurled a crude bomb at the Bahaddarhat intersection during traffic congestion in the area around 8pm on Tuesday.
