A suspected mugger has been killed in a mob beating at Bandher Hat Paschim Bazar under Sadar upazila in Noakhali.
The deceased is Md Nishan 26, son of Rahim Mohrar of village Fakirpur.
Meanwhile, one Md Nishan, 26, was injured in the mob beating early Friday.
Nishan has been admitted to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital.
Sudharam Sub-Inspector Sulak Biswas said: “Nishan and his associate snatched away the belongings of a couple who were going to Khaliphar Hat on a rickshaw at 4:30am.”
Later, the locals caught and beat them up severely. Nishan died on the spot and.
Police sent the body to the hospital's morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with the Sudharam police in the connection.
