A Jubo League leader has been stabbed to death by miscreants in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha.
The deceased is Abdul Hamid Prodhan Hiru Mia, 35, member of Gobindaganj upazila Awami League.
Upazila Awami League President Touhidul Islam Roket confirmed his political identity.
Gobindaganj OC ABM Zahidul Islam said Hiru Mia left for home from Gobindaganj upazila around 1:30am on Thursday, but he did not reach it.
Later, locals found his body in a crop field around 8am.
"Injury marks were seen in different parts of his body. It is being suspected that miscreants stabbed him to death," said the OC.
The body was sent to the Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
