The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved a charge-sheet against four people, including a former Jatiya Party MP and his wife, for their alleged involvement in irregularities during the land acquisition of Hatirjheel-Begunbari project.

The Commission at its regular meeting yesterday approved the charge-sheet, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.

The charge-sheet will be submitted before court against former Jatiya Party MP Abul Quasem and his wife Sufia Quasem, additional secretary of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Gyanendra Nath Sarkar and additional secretary of Election Commission Mukhlesur Rahman.

Earlier, on December 26 in 2013, then ACC deputy director and inquiry officer Jatan Kumar Roy filed a case with Kotwali Police Station in the capital in this regard.

According to ACC probe, Mukhlesur and Gyanendra in collusion with others provide compensation creating fake ownership of 65 decimal of land at Tejkunipara in the city in 2006.  During disbursement of compensation among fake owners against the government land, Gyanendra was additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Zila Parishad while Mukhlesur was additional divisional commissioner of Dhaka.
