A Thakurgaon court has handed down death sentence to a man for killing a lawyer's wife in the district.
The death convict is Faisal Islam (20, son of Hanif Ali, of Chhuta Balia village of the upazila.
Thakurgaon District and Sessions Judge Syed Enayet Hossain passed the order on Monday.
Faisal murdered Unme Kulsum, 62, wife of Badiuzzaman Chowdhury, president of Thakurgaon Jila Ainjibi Samity, on January 8, 2012.
Badi filed a murder case on the day with Thakurgaon Sadar police station.
He expressed satisfaction over the verdict.
