The members of Bangladesh Navy have seized 30,000 yaba tablets from inside a wooden boat in the outer anchorage of Chittagong Port.
Navy's Anti-smuggling circle conducted the drive in the early hours of Saturday.
Commander Atiqur Rahman, OC of Anti-smuggling circle, said: “While patrolling, we chased the boat around 3:30am, sensing its suspicious movement.”
Sensing the presence of navy personnel, the peddlers managed to reach the shore and fled the spot, he said.
The price of the yaba tablets is estimated at Tk1.3 crore, added the official.
