Narcotics control department officials have seized 2,100 bottles of phensedyl from a rice-laden truck in Jhenaidah town.
Inspector of the narcotics control department Mosharraf Hossain said: "Being tipped-off, a team from the department searched a truck in a market of the town and seized 2,100 bottles of phensedyl from it on Tuesday late night.”
However, sensing the presence of the law enforcers the driver and helper of the truck managed to flee the scene, the police officer added.
The seized items was handed over to Jhenaidah sadar police station. A case was also filed with the police station in this connection.
