Police have arrested 31 people including 8 BNP-Jamaat activists in a special drive in the district during countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The law enforcers conducted the drive in the district from Saturday evening till Sunday morning, said Sunamganj Police Super Muhammad Harun-Ur-Rashid.
He said: “They were arrested on charges of carrying out violence. All are accused in different cases.”
The drive would continue to maintain law and order situation in the area, added the police official.
