Police have arrested 23 people including 5 BNP-Jamaat activists in a special drive in the district during countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The law enforcers conducted the drive in the district from Monday evening till Tuesday morning, said Sunamganj Police Super Muhammad Harun-Ur-Rashid.
He said: “The 23 persons were detained on charges of carrying out violence. We will continue the drive to maintain law and order situation in Sunamganj.”
Case would be filed against the detainees in this connection, added the police official.
