Police have arrested 26 activists of BNP and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami in the district in a number of cases filed over carrying out sabotage activities.
Additional Superintendent of Police in Gaibandha Mosharrof Hossain said the BNP-Jamaat activists were arrested from Friday night till Saturday afternoon.
He said the arrestees were produced before the court in the afternoon.
Later, the court sent them to jail.
The BNP-led 20-party alliance activists have been carrying out arson and vandalism across the country since it began the blockade programme on January 6.
