Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in a drive, have seized 33 kg of gunpowder from Jahurpurtek border area under Sadar upazila.
Lt Colonel Abu Zafar Sheikh Mohammad Buzlul Haq, commanding officer of BGB 9, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune.
Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted the drive in the border area at about 8:30am on Saturday and recovered the gunpowder in an abandoned condition, he said.
Sensing the presence of BGB the miscreants managed to escape the spot.
